The education field is one of the prominent sectors where COVID-19 affected globally. Referring to the latest world bank data, 1.5 million students or close to 90% of the world’s students have been impacted by the current pandemic. School across the globe left no other option, but to take their classrooms online as academic operations are temporarily suspends by the majority of regulators and concerned authorities.

Covid -19 could lead to a whole new era of education. We have to realize the ground realities and reset the priorities in line with the latest emerging trends in the education sector.

According to NPE 1986 Educational technology (edutech) offer the means to reach large numbers in remote and inaccessible areas, remove disparity in educational facilities available to the disadvantaged, and provide individualized instruction to learners conveniently suited to their needs and pace of learning. Covid -19 could lead to a whole new era of education. We have to realize the ground realities and reset the priorities in line with the latest emerging trends in the education sector.

Investment in the edutech industry climbed from $16.3 billion in 2018 to $18.7billion last year, reflecting steady growth in the consecutive year.

The combined investments in worldwide edutech platforms during the past two years are higher than the total combined investment recorded for the past 25 years (1988 to 2017). This clearly demonstrates the rising interests within space and opportunities with the growing demand going forward.

Raza Khan- the chief executive officer of Al Najha Education narrates the biggest change is coming three areas:

-Learning management system
-Exponential gains are possible in edutainment (Educational entertainment )
-Content and pushing of good quality personalized good content to the young learner.

Edutech companies or individuals need to come up with a different model, where in more and more players will join hands with traditional schools and institutions to support the latest trends in the industry.

Educational technology has grown worldwide exponentially and we need to learn and practice this in Nepal as well to include adaptive learning, video content, gamification, and personalized learning solutions to change the way people learn. Edutech platforms are coming up with innovative and interactive services that aim to improve the remote learning experience, consequently, the pandemic has also opened a new chapter for edutech industry, prompting many ventures to raise funds to support their expansions plan.

Government, Industry expert, investors, school college operators, guardians need to do more analyses, prepare effective agenda to cover maximum students and lunch the programme. We need to be very serious on it cause this the age demand.

Covid 19 pandemic has accelerated the implementation of digital transformation within the education sector across the globe. We should not ignore the challenges that in our some region basic infrastructure like school, desk bench, textbook are not reachable and it might be imaginary for them despite that It is most prominent to our country that we need do plan, homework and exercise how we can make more reliable, accessible and get connected to more and more students. Government, Industry expert, investors, school college operators, guardians need to do more analyses, prepare effective agenda to cover maximum students and lunch the program. We need to be very serious about it cause this age demand. Educational technology enhances to improve students technical skills, It reduces the gap of the geographical barrier, increase digital literacy, they can easily connect with a global expert, it enhances to reduce the workload to both students and teachers, it enhances to expose student’s new interests and talents. It prepares students for the future carrier.

Coronavirus pandemic is the biggest and most urgent crisis affecting children globally since the Second World War. There is also the biggest question will our children return to the same curriculum after the circumstances remain the same? Edutech solutions are only the alternative until now, but this is going to be an indispensable part of the education systems in the coming days and it might be the next biggest platform to investment.
